Second PGA Tour title for Luke List at Sanderson Farms

After a five-man playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship, the American golfer Luke List emerged victorious to win his second career PGA Tour victory.

The 38-year-old List kept his composure and made a putt from 45 feet out in Jackson, Mississippi.

Ludvig Aberg, a golfer from Sweden who played a key role in Europe’s victory over the United States in the Ryder Cup in Rome, was one of the four players who came up just short.

“It’s been a full rollercoaster but I thought I played well all day and just hung in there,” according to List.

At Country Club of Jackson, he tied for first place with fellow Americans Scott Stallings and Ben Griffin, as well as with Aberg and Norlander of Sweden, setting up the first play-off on the PGA Tour with at least five competitors since 2021.

The victory was clinched for List with a birdie on the opening hole of extra play. List had previously defeated Will Zalatoris in the same manner to win the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open.

Aberg, who is only 23 years old, was competing for the first time after having a sensational week at the Ryder Cup, and he was going for his first victory on the PGA Tour.

It was only in June that he made the transition from amateur to professional, and he won his first DP World Tour championship at the European Masters in Switzerland just a month ago.
