The All England Membership’s plan to construct an 8,000-seat stadium and 38 different courts at Wimbledon that may permit the Grand Slam to carry its qualifying match on web site has received approval from a neighborhood planning council.
The enlargement would happen on the previous web site of Wimbledon Park Golf Membership, which the All England Membership purchased in 2018. The Merton Council’s planning committee authorized the proposal on Thursday evening, the council stated Friday.
