England boss Steve Borthwick has described his new defence coach Felix Jones as “one of the crucial intense individuals I’ve ever met” after bringing him in from South Africa.

Jones joined the England setup after serving to the Springbok win the World Cup and has even left Borthwick in awe of his work ethic.

“Felix is among the most intense individuals I’ve ever met,” stated Borthwick. “And coming from me, that is saying one thing! I can meet him or have an hour-long dialog with him on the cellphone and never get a phrase in.
